FAQs

All ceramic pieces are handmade, as a one-off, or in small batches, causing variations in form and finish. The unique piece you will receive may differ slightly from what's pictured. Subtle differences in glaze colour, texture, dimension and finish should be expected (and embraced!)

The piece I want is sold out, will you be making more?

I can't guarantee that I'll make more of any particular sold out item. Please feel free to email elisesantangelo@gmail.com to ask about pre-orders, custom orders or any piece in particular you might be after.

Restocks and new pieces will be announced throughout the year via Instagram

Do you do custom orders or commissions?

Yes, I love making these. Please get in touch with me directly to discuss what you have in mind. Bear in mind any custom ordered pieces can take 8-10 weeks to make, depending on the project and my availability.

What's the best way to care for my ceramics?

It's best to hand wash your ceramics in lukewarm water, which is more gentle than a dishwasher. Every piece is dishwasher safe, but a dishwasher can sometimes damage glazes and cause discolouration. If stains develop from certain foods (like beets or strawberries) you can lightly scrub areas with a mixture of baking soda and water.

Unglazed clay is porous, so you should not leave these pieces soaking in water for long periods of time. Condensation can form on the bottom of vases, so be mindful of your tabletops.

Even with the gentlest care, glazes will patina over time.

Are the ceramics food safe?

All pieces are food safe and are suitable for both hot and cold foods or liquids (unless described otherwise).

Why do some pieces contain different stamps on the bottom?

I've only recently began using an updated maker's mark. Some pieces still contain the old mark, but all new pieces will be made using the new one.

Are orders “Final Sale”?

All sales are final.

I pack every piece with extreme care, but breakages can unfortunately still occur during transit. If your order arrives damaged, please contact me within 48 hours with photos and I'll be happy to help resolve the issue and/or send a replacement.

A photo of the damaged piece, along with the box and packaging with all labels visible is required to be sent to elisesantangelo@gmail.com.

Can I change/edit my order after placing it?

If you email me immediately after purchasing, I can usually edit your order in time before shipping it out. If I don’t receive your email in time before sending it out, I am not liable for sending out the originally ordered item.

When will my order be fulfilled?

I aim to have every order packaged and ready to post within 5 working days after the order was placed.

How can I track my order?

Once your order has been posted, you should receive an email with tracking information. If you have not received a shipping confirmation email by the 5th working day after placing your order, please contact elisesantangelo@gmail.com

Which delivery service do you use?

For UK based orders, I use Royal Mail Tracked & Signed service (2-3 working days). For international orders, please contact me directly to arrange bespoke shipping options.

How do you package your pieces?

Ceramics are fragile, and require a lot of protective packaging to avoid breakages. I am currently repurposing old shipping boxes and packing materials — before buying new, fully recyclable or biodegradable packaging.

In general, my ambition is to reduce waste, repurpose and recycle as much as possible. This means that you may receive your items with re-used packaging and in boxes. If you have any issue with this, please leave a note with your order. Please recycle or repurpose (again!) the packaging your ceramics arrive in.

All paper tape used is fully recyclable. Postcards are Risograph printed — an energy efficient, locally based printing method, with soy-based inks on recycled paper.

What are experiments & seconds?

'Experiments' are tests, prototypes, or happy accidents — pieces that are fully functional (and beautiful in their own way), but perhaps didn't turn out quite as planned.

'Seconds' are pieces with minor technical imperfections, or pieces that don't meet my personal aesthetic standards. These imperfections do not affect the functional integrity of the piece, and are noted in the description of each piece.
